Our Curated Standard
We favor whole-food and plant-based nutrition whenever practical, while recognizing that some nutrients are best delivered through thoughtfully formulated supplements. Every product we carry is evaluated for its ingredients, formulation, and how well it aligns with our standards before we recommend it.
Why These Ingredients Matter
| Ingredient | Why |
|---|---|
| Vitamin K2 (MK-7) | Vitamin K is required to activate proteins involved in normal blood clotting, bone metabolism and calcium regulation. MK-7 is a long-chain form of vitamin K2 with a longer half-life than vitamin K1, allowing it to remain available in the body for a longer period. Research continues to examine its role in bone and cardiovascular health.1,2,3 |
Know where your supplements have been. Your order ships directly from Youngevity, not from a third-party reseller. You may find the same product for a few dollars less elsewhere, but with reseller inventory, it can be difficult to know how long a product has been stored or under what conditions.

Why We Carry It
Vitamin K can get overshadowed by calcium and vitamin D in discussions of bone health, but it has a different job. Vitamin K is needed to activate proteins involved in bone mineralization and calcium regulation, including osteocalcin and matrix Gla protein.1,2
We carry Integris Vitamin K2 because it provides a straightforward way to supplement specifically with MK-7, a long-chain form of vitamin K2 that remains available in the body longer than vitamin K1.1,3 It is a simple formula rather than another broad bone-health blend, which makes it useful for someone who wants to add K2 to an existing nutrition program without unnecessarily duplicating several other nutrients.
Why I Recommend It
I’m not going to lie: I only recently learned about the potential of vitamin K2, especially for those with osteopenia or osteoporosis who are throwing everything they can at their condition to get it to stop progressing (and hopefully maybe improve). The research was solid enough that I became a believer pretty quickly.
Finding K2 in a form that aligned with my preference for no animal ingredients was another story. Thankfully, Integris uses a plant-based capsule, so I can feel good about taking it and recommending it.
And since the budget of my customers is always part of my curation requirements, I appreciate that MK-7’s longer half-life means it can be used at relatively low nutritional doses.4 For me, that’s a no-brainer.
What’s In It
Vitamin K2 (as menaquinone-7), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, rice flour

How to Use It
Take one capsule per day with a meal containing some healthy fat, or as directed by your healthcare provider. If you take warfarin or another vitamin K antagonist, talk with the healthcare provider managing that medication before taking a vitamin K supplement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Product Questions
What is the difference between vitamin K1 and vitamin K2? Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) is the main form of vitamin K found in foods such as leafy green vegetables. Vitamin K2 refers to a group of compounds called menaquinones. Both forms participate in activating vitamin K-dependent proteins, but the different forms are absorbed and handled differently by the body.1,2
What does MK-7 mean? MK-7 stands for menaquinone-7, one of the forms of vitamin K2. The number refers to part of its chemical structure. MK-7 has a relatively long half-life, meaning it remains available in the body longer than vitamin K1 and some shorter-chain forms of vitamin K2.2,3
Why is vitamin K2 often discussed along with calcium and vitamin D? These nutrients have different but related roles in bone health. Calcium provides mineral for bones, vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium, and vitamin K is needed to activate proteins involved in bone mineralization and calcium regulation. They work in different ways, so vitamin K2 should not be viewed as a replacement for calcium or vitamin D.1,2
Can I take vitamin K2 if I take a blood thinner? If you take warfarin or another vitamin K antagonist, talk with the healthcare provider managing that medication before taking a vitamin K supplement. Changes in vitamin K intake can affect how these medications work, and maintaining a consistent vitamin K intake is important.1
How did vitamin K2 manage to fly under my radar for so long? I got so caught up in calcium and vitamin D’s celebrity that I apparently forgot to meet the supporting cast. Sorry, K2.
